Sets in Cocktail Card Designer are collections of cards created from all linked Data Sources, using their defined Layouts, Variants, and other mapping settings.
They allow you to preview, organize, and control which cards are included for export or print.
Sets act as the “workspace” where generated cards can be viewed, counted, and managed before being finalized.
Set Editor Reference #
The Set Editor, opened when selecting a Set from the Project Tree, has three main sections:

Set Library (A) #
The Set Library is the main viewing area where all cards from all Data Sources are displayed.
The card preview, in all View modes, reflects:
- The Data Source values used to populate the card
- Its assigned Layout and applied Variant
- The “Copy Count” controls beneath each card, allowing you to increase or decrease how many copies of that card are included in the Set
- See View settings to adjust how cards are displayed in the Gallery.
If a card’s copy count is set to 0, it will not appear in the Set List.
You can use this space to visually verify that Layouts, text, and imagery are displaying as expected before exporting.
Set List (B) #
The Set List displays all cards that are currently included in the Set, meaning they have a copy count greater than 0.
Each entry shows:
- The card name
- This is determined by the “name” of the row in the Data Source
- The number of copies
This list represents the actual items that will be exported or printed when running an operation.
The Set List has controls at the bottom of its panel:

- “Arrow” Buttons:
- Used to change the currently selected card.
- “Clear All” Button:
- Used to remove all cards from the Set.
Filters Bar (C) #
The Filters Bar provides controls for adjusting what appears in the Set Library view.
Set Items #
Determines which cards are shown based on their inclusion in the Set:
- Include:
- Show all cards, regardless of whether they’re in the Set.
- Exclude:
- Show only cards not currently included in the Set.
- Only:
- Show only cards that are included (those with a copy count above zero).
View #
Controls how cards are displayed in the Set Library:
- Thumbnails:
- Displays card previews, showing the full Layout visually.
- Details:
- Shows a table-style list with Data Source values used to generate each card, ideal for checking linked field data.
This default for this field can be edited from the Project Settings.
Add All #
Adds all visible cards (based on current filters) to the Set in one action.
This is useful for bulk inclusion when starting a new Set.
Set Properties (D) #
This section is what the Property Editor displays when a Set is selected in the Project Tree.
Name #
The title you assign to this Set for easy identification within your project.
Not to be confused with “File Name”.
File Name #
The actual name of the file on your local machine.
This is not editable from within Cocktail Card Designer.
Default Export Profile #
Defines how data from this Set is exported (for example, as images, print files, etc.).
This input field will open a drop-down containing the file names of every Export Profile in the current project.
- This Export Profile will be automatically set when you initiate an Export operation on this Set.
Zoom #
Adjusts the viewing scale (z-level) of the Layout Preview in the Set Library, if the View is set to Thumbnail mode.
This property is for viewing convenience only and has no effect on the final sheet’s dimensions.
