Cocktail Card Designer Overview

Cocktail Card Designer provides an integrated environment for designing and managing dynamic card layouts.

Each Layout defines the visual structure of a card, while Data Sources supply the variable content that populates those Layouts — such as names, stats, or artwork.

Cards can be grouped into Sets, allowing collections of Layouts and data combinations to be organized for testing, printing, or export.

Completed designs can then be output as high-quality images or print-ready sheets using Export Profiles, which define the desired format, file naming, and export behavior.

Together, these systems create a flexible workflow for building, previewing, and exporting large numbers of cards with consistent style and data-driven precision.

Here is the home screen for Cocktail Card Designer, with each of the main sections designated by letters which will be referenced below.

The letters represent different sections of the interface.

To start editing, either open an existing project or start a new one.

Project Tree (A) #

This section is where all project filenames will be displayed in their respective sections, Layouts, Sets, Data Sources, and Export Profiles.

Central Panel (B) #

This section is the main workspace for editing project files. It can contain several open tabs and each tab represents an editor corresponding to that file.

Property Editor (C) #

The Property Editor displays editable attributes for the currently selected object across all editors. It dynamically updates based on global selection and provides immediate feedback as properties are changed.

The Property Editor display for a Data Source, created from the user’s Google Sheet, named “GoogleSheets 3”.

Output Log (D) #

The Output Log displays messages related to actions, errors, and system events as you work. It’s the primary feedback channel for processes like data retrieval, exports, and script execution.

Project Toolbar (E) #

The Project Toolbar contains quick actions for creating files, saving, printing / exporting, and other utilities.

How the Sections Work Together #

  1. The Project Tree defines what you’re editing.
  2. The Central Panel is where you edit it.
  3. The Property Editor controls how it’s configured.
  4. The Output Log shows what happened as a result of your actions.
  5. The Project Toolbar enables quick actions for all parts of the editing process.

All areas are synchronized by the Selection and Undo/Redo Systems, which keep state consistent across the interface.
