Export

The Export feature is used to generate final image files or image sheets from your project.

It can be run from either a Set or a Data Source, and uses the same property system as the Export Profile window.

Exports are ideal for generating deliverables such as digital cards, proof sheets, or print-ready assets.

How to Export #

  1. Select a Set or Data Source
    • In the Project Tree, choose the Set or Data Source you wish to export.
  2. Open the Export Dialog

Export Options Dialog Sections #

The Export Options dialog has several options to configure the Export operation before it goes underway. It will open with the Default Export Profile in place.

A. Use Profile #

  • Allows you to use an existing Export Profile.
  • Profiles contain saved export settings that can be reused across projects.
  • To make changes to the selected profile directly from this dialog, click the lock icon.
    • Locked:
      • You can use the profile as-is (read-only).
    • Unlocked:
      • Changes made here will modify the profile file itself.

This helps ensure consistent exports while giving you the flexibility to make quick adjustments when needed.

B. Use Settings #

This option is used to configure Export settings for either one-time use or to store off with “New Profile”.

  • The drop-down lets you choose between:
    • Image Exporter:
      • Exports one image per card.
    • Image Sheet Exporter:
      • Exports multiple cards per sheet using sheet layout properties.

Switching between these options will automatically change which property fields are displayed below, including their default file name pattern and available parameters.

C. New Profile #

  • Creates a new Export Profile based on the current settings you’ve configured in the dialog.
  • When clicked:
    1. You’ll be prompted to name the new profile.
    2. The new profile will immediately be saved and set as the active profile for the Export Options dialog.
    3. The export dialog remains open so you can continue refining settings before exporting.
  • Works with either Use Profile or Use Settings active.

This makes it easy to capture and reuse export configurations as your project grows.

Export Process #

  1. Click “OK” to start the export.
  2. A Progress Dialog will appear, showing real-time progress through the export process.
    • If successful, a completion message will appear with an option to open the file location directly.
    • If an error occurs, a failure message will report what went wrong.
