Just started looking for a better editor than nandeck so decided to give cocktail a try. First impressions are good but I have a few questions:

What is the unit of measurement on the layout screen? It seems to start at 1000 by default but a 1000 what?

Is it possible to generate a script and feed that into Cocktail? I realise that’s a very nandeck approach but it’s one I’m comfortable with – generate a script with the base text then adjust it within the software to see what the best layout values are then update the script to reflect those changes.

I’m going to answer this myself.

I suspect that the uom is millimetres but will confirm this after I produce some printed output.

The files which are produced by the gui are mostly xml (good choice) so creating them from a perl script should be pretty straightforward.

    Me again 🙂

The base uom is set in the project and can be cm, inch or pixels

    Keith,
Thanks for answering this. I’m sure others will run into the same question.
    Dan.
